A pioneering cellular health brand from New Zealand.

Good health begins in cells. We believe strong cells are the foundation of vitality and longevity.

We create breakthrough solutions that strengthen and protect cells from within, helping people stay healthier for longer so they can continue to positively impact the world, no matter their age.

1995

From the beginning

Our story began with a single antioxidant molecule. In the 1990s, our founding scientists at the University of Otago in New Zealand, Professors Mike Murphy and Professor Robin Smith set out to discover why many antioxidants weren’t well-absorbed by specific parts of the body very effectively.

2000-2005

MitoQ® Mitoquinol compound invented and patented
MitoQ® was founded following the invention and patenting of the world-first mitochondria-targeted antioxidant. From 2000 to 2005, key intellectual property (IP) was secured, and commercial efforts began, marking a breakthrough in cellular health science. MitoQ was officially established in Auckland in 2005 by owner Gary Lane.

2006-2016

Exploration & validation

This phase marked a period of scientific exploration. Independent clinical trials were initiated, and safety and early efficacy studies were completed, laying the groundwork for future breakthroughs.

2018

Clinical breakthrough

A University of Colorado Boulder study made headlines with its finding that “a novel antioxidant makes old blood vessels seem young again” showing that older adults taking MitoQ experienced vascular function comparable to someone 15–20 years younger.

The research demonstrated a 42% improvement in a key measure of endothelial health after six weeks of supplementation, reflecting significant age-related benefits.
